Head Teacher's Welcome

It is a genuine privilege to welcome you to Appleton Wiske Community Primary School, a wonderful school at the heart of Appleton Wiske village and its surrounding community.

As the new Headteacher, I am incredibly excited to be joining the Appleton Wiske family and to have the opportunity to lead our school into its next chapter. I have already been struck by the warmth of our school and the care and commitment shown by our pupils, staff, families and governors.

My own deeply rooted principles as an educator resonate strongly with the vision and values of Appleton Wiske. I believe that a successful school should be a place where children and adults are Happy, healthy and Productive, where everyone feels valued and supported, and where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

We recognise and celebrate every child as an individual. Alongside providing a high-quality and ambitious education, we want our pupils to explore their interests, discover their talents, develop new skills and grow in confidence. Our aim is for children to leave Appleton Wiske curious, resilient and well prepared for the next stage of their journey.

Strong relationships are at the heart of everything we do. By working closely with our pupils, staff, families, governors and wider community, we can ensure that every child feels a strong sense of belonging and receives the support and challenge they need to achieve their very best.
