Notice of the Request to Defederate

On 21st May 2018 the Governing Body of the BAWB Federation received a formal request for the defederation of West Burton CE Primary School. The request was compliant with the relevant regulations in that it was signed by the parents of at least one fifth of the pupils at West Burton CE Primary School.
In accordance with previous communications the Governing Board are undertaking a thorough review of the implications of defederation on all three schools in the Federation. The Governing Board intend to review the findings of this work on 19th June before taking a decision on the request to defederate on 11th July 2018.

Welcome letter to parents

Welcome to our school website. All information presented on our website is available in a paper format. Please contact the school office if you would like to request a paper copy of any documents.

Appleton Wiske Community Primary School is at the heart of the village and surrounding areas; there is a real family atmosphere here with a caring and inclusive ethos. We focus on the needs of each individual child and work together to meet those needs in an exciting and well-resourced learning environment.

Since my appointment as Head Teacher in September 2016, I have spent a good deal of time getting to know the families, pupils, staff, governors and members of the community in order to develop positive relationships across the school. It is essential that we build strong partnerships so that we may work together to meet the social, emotional, academic and personal needs of every child in our care.

We aim to provide the best possible education for your children and hope you will share our high expectations, particularly in behaviour and achievement. Our close collaboration with a range of neighbouring settings and skilled professionals ensures seamless care with adults who have a wealth of knowledge and understanding of children and their development and learning. This reflects our school vision of TEAM: ‘Together Everyone Achieves More’.

If you have any queries or would like to discuss any issues, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your commitment and support.
