Happy, Healthy and Productive

Dear Parents/Carers
The autumn term is in full swing and your children have settled into school impressively. It has been an absolute
pleasure for me to see them hard at work and enjoying a range of opportunities inside and outside the classroom. As I
mentioned in my welcome letter last week, a special well done must go to the Reception children who are a joy to have
in school. We are looking forward to a happy, healthy and productive term with all the children. On a personal note, I
would like to thank you for your support; I have enjoyed catching up with lots of family members over the last two
weeks and your kind words are very much appreciated.

‘SKIP 2B FIT’ AND ‘BOX 2B FIT’ WHOLE SCHOOL SESSIONS

We got the term off to a healthy start last Thursday when Dave Gibson visited our school for ‘Skip 2B Fit’ and ‘Box 2B
Fit’ sessions. The children’s attitudes were outstanding throughout and they enjoyed working on a range of skills. Our
staff will continue to deliver Skip 2B Fit and Box 2B Fit sessions throughout the year.

YOUNG LEADER TRAINING YEAR 5/6

Well done to all our Year 5/6 pupils for taking part in Young Leader Training with Dave Gibson last Thursday. The
children have been trained to lead physical activity sessions during playtimes and lunchtimes. They also enjoyed ‘Wake
Up Shake Up’ training and have already started leading these sessions every morning for the whole school it really is
a great way to start the day!

KEY STAGE 1 FUN RUN

Our Year 1/2 pupils had a brilliant time at the Small Schools Fun Run on Tuesday. Mrs Hainsworth and Mr Hills were
extremely impressed with all the children for their wonderful, positive attitudes. Well done to all the children and
congratulations to Darcy, Jessie, Ava and Jack (Year 1) who between them brought home 8 medals and Rory, Arthur,
Fabian, and Eva (Year 2) who came home with a total of 12 medals.

FRIENDS OF THE SCHOOL

Thank you to the Friends of the School for hosting a tea and coffee morning this week. It would be great to see more
volunteers at events and you may even enjoy working on the committee. Thank you for supporting our school and
helping to provide our children with the best possible opportunities.
